FST is a charity based in Wandsworth, South London, that invests time in young people, enabling them to re-engage with the learning process.
They target young people aged between 11 and 19, who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, those that have offended or are at risk of offending, young people not in education, employment or training, and those socially marginalised. They seek to empower, support, care for and give hope to all the young people they encounter.
FST provide both alternative education and youth services through a range of effective and targeted projects, including:
• Under 18 football team
• Youth Cafe
• Personal and Social development workshops
They work with small groups of young people and on a one-to-one basis to provide education, support and space that develops young people’s skills, abilities and personalities enabling them to grow into mature, responsible adults.
They also aim to build lasting relationships that will provide encouragement and a solid platform from which young people feel able to make positive choices about their lives, overcoming many of the challenges they face.
WWMT is supporting Future Skills to develop their Learn2Live project and develop their mentoring scheme.
