Bright Ideas Trust, founded by Tim Campbell MBE, the first winner of The Apprentice, is a charity helping young people to start their own businesses.

The young people they support are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and have a commercial ‘bright idea’ for a business. They help young people by supporting their business on a commercial basis with start up finance, advice and guidance, providing business lessons that will stay with them through their lives.

In 2010/11 BIT received about 1000 applications for support, ran business readiness workshops for 200 people, helped a further 300 with business guidance and continued to invest in the 28 businesses on their books.
